Hayner Burgfest 2019 Summary of important facts
Background
In the historical town of Dreieichenhain located between Fankfurt/Main and Darmstadt every 2nd weekend in September the Hanyer Burgfest takes place. The ruins of the castle and the picturesque old town offers the perfect backdrop for one of the most famous medieval markets in Germany.
Subject
The organisers want every Hayner Burgfest to be different to the one before. Therefore a different subject is chosen annually. This year you can dive into a history that goes back 4000 years: Dschingis Khan and his Mogul traditions. In this year's show you can watch Dschingis Khan accompanied by his warriors on horses and camels going on a hunt escorted by archers, falconers and dogs. Authentic looking costumes and equipment will complete the whole scenery.
