Hayner Burgfest 2022 - Summary of important facts
Background
Dreieichenhain (located between Frankfurt and Darmstadt and one of the last historic places in the Rhein-Main aerea) is celebrating the Hayner Burgfest every year at the second weekend of September.
The ruin of the imperial castle 'Hayn in der Dreieich' with its tower and the pitoresque timber-framed houses of the old town of Dreieichenhain offer a perfect venue for one of the leading medieval festivals of Germany.
Motto
This year's motto of the Hayner Burgfest is 'Nova Excitatio – A New Awakening'. After a 2 years break due to the Coronavirus the Kultur-Gesellschaft Hayner Vereine is daring a restart of the Hayner Burgfest. This new start will focus on the Medieval Market 'Herrenborn'.

Medieval market 'Herrenborn' with almost 100 diffent booths showing craftmen, salesmen offering various good as well as food and drinks
Many different activities for children and families such as pony, camel and donkey riding,
merry-go-round, vegetable theater, playing tables, children's knight tournament, mouse
roulette, joust, medieval philosophies and various games.
Additional there is a nursing tent and a rent out for baby slings.
Several lectures and presentations will be held in the Bergfried.
Lots of activities on different stages knights, showfighting, jugglers, stilt artists and musicians.

Dreieichenhain is located in the triangle of Frankfurt/Main, Darmstadt and Offenbach/Main. There is a direct link to the motorways A3 (Köln-München), A5 (Basel-Hamburg) and A661 (Egelsbach-Oberursel). Please follow the parking signs to Hayner Burgfest.
