Hayner Burgfest 2023 - Summary of important facts
Background
Dreieichenhain (located between Frankfurt and Darmstadt and one of the last historic places in the Rhein-Main aerea) is celebrating the Hayner Burgfest every year at the second weekend of September.
The ruin of the imperial castle 'Hayn in der Dreieich' with its tower and the pitoresque timber-framed houses of the old town of Dreieichenhain offer a perfect venue for one of the leading medieval festivals of Germany.
Motto
The organisers want every Hayner Burgfest to be different to the one before. With this years
motto 'Celebratio Civitas - Met, Music and Sound of the Swords' the focus is on the festival aerea
itself. After a compulsory break for some years we do ot only show a tournament again. Our house
band Schelmish - until 2012 one of the most famous medieval bands - will exclusivly be on our
stage after a 11 years break. And Tumultus Simplex will also return as we used to know them:
loud, brute and different.
